you're riding smart.
With injury coverage for every rider, Balance puts your mind at ease in case of an accident involving any participating cyclist during your event, tour, ride, or rental. Our event cancellation plan protects your organization's finances if your event, tour, or ride can't be held. And eligible clubs can get group rates for their members.
Event Accident Coverage
Balance keeps it simple. By embedding personal accident insurance into your event's registration fee, you can help protect your riders from the life-altering financial consequences of accidents. These benefits include up to $50,000 of coverage for any participant suffering a serious injury due to a covered accident. Affordable coverage is available on a per day, per rider basis.
Event Cancellation Coverage
Even the best planned events sometimes face unforeseen obstacles. Disasters of all types, both man-made and natural, can interfere with your event being held. With Balance's event cancellation coverage, you can help protect your organization. A canceled event doesn't have to mean lost revenue. With our coverage, you'll be preparing your event for events beyond your control.
Balance for Bike Clubs
Eligible clubs and associations can offer our injury insurance program as a member benefit. Members get reduced group rates. There's no cost to the organization and participation is completely optional for members.
We're different than other insurance programs. Balance protects your riders' wallets in the event of a crash. See plan details below.
for injuries requiring medical treatment
If any of your riders suffer a covered accident, Balance provides $300 a day for up to 60 days in hospital.
Please note: This benefit does not include confinement in a Long Term Acute Care Hospital. What’s a “Long Term Acute Care Hospital?”
There's no time to worry about costs during an emergency. Balance offers an extra $300 per visit payable for treatment in an Emergency Room and $150 per visit for treatment in an Urgent Care Center.
Need a physical therapist? So long as treatment is received within 72 hours of a covered accident, Balance pays $75 a visit for up to 10 visits with a physical therapist. Treatment must begin within 60 days of the accident.
If an ambulance is needed, Balance pays up to $500 to help offset the cost of a ground ambulance and/or up to $5,000 for transportation by air if required.
Please note: this an “Excess Benefit,” and is payable only to the extent that another health insurer or source doesn’t provide coverage. What does “Excess Benefit” mean?
for life-altering injuries, up to $150,000
TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI)
Balance is the first insurance plan to offer a benefit specifically for traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a bicycle accident, with benefits for severe and moderate traumatic brain injuries. What’s considered a TBI?
If a covered accident results in paralysis in one or more limbs, Balance has coverage benefits for quadriplegia, hemiplegia, paraplegia, and uniplegia.
If a loss of or more body members occurs (i.e. arm, leg, hand, foot or eye) as a result of a covered accident, your rider is covered with a benefit up to $50,000.
Your riders, covered.
